Walk towards the light

Karen has always enjoyed expressing herself through art. She has been painting consistently since 1989. Her preferred medium of choice is acrylic on canvas, where her glazing techniques bring a glow and transparency to her work. She also works with mixed media using texture and metallic elements that feature in many of her abstract works. While living in Northland she was inspired by the beauty of our coastline, with a special interest in the Langs Beach, Whangarei Heads and Hen and Chicken Islands. Karen's paintings are exhibited regularly and are held in private collections throughout New Zealand and around the world including Australia, Hong Kong, UK and USA.
