Stephen has been a Fine Art and Commercial Photographer for more than 25 years. After graduating from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto , in 1985, he travelled to Papua New Guinea to document their changing people and society. Then, after having spent two decades living all around Canada, Stephen has returned home to Devonport. His photographic work presents the extraordinary in subjects that appear commonplace. John Baldessari, Joseph Beuys and David Cragg have all been influences on his thinking and work. Stephen believes that advances in digital technology both free him and enable him to explore ideas without the limitations of traditional photography. 'A whole new set of skills and techniques gives us the ability to control what the viewer is looking at and communicate ideas more clearly'. This association with Art Bureau is part of his ambition to share his work with as wide an audience as possible.
