Lindis Pass

John was an honours graduate from Elam in the 1960s, a student of Colin McCahon, Garth Tapper and Robert Ellis. Johns work is mainly expressive landscape and cityscape and he works in oils and acrylic, sometimes including screen-printed elements. In 2003 he completed a Master of Fine arts degree with a theme of railways in New Zealand. This resulted in a series of abstract works and some elements of this have come into more recent landscapes. He is a regular participant in Artists in Eden and is in many private collections in New Zealand and overseas. As a recently retired senior lecturer at Whitecliffe College of Art and Design, John now has time for more travel and painting.
