{"title":"Gaye Jurisich","description":"Gaye Jurisich was born in Huntly and has lived all her life in rural settings. She spent much of her school life doing drawing and painting. In recent years she has exhibited successfully in Auckland.\r\n \r\nJurisich paints with intensity and then has large spaces to rest. Her work reflects the feel of the land, even though it is very abstract. Jurisich enjoys presenting large works so that the viewer is confronted with the painting's presence. Her paintings create space allowing the viewer to be drawn in to explore the surface and beyond.\r\n \r\nShe works mainly in acrylic, enjoying its fluidity and colour, and on canvas as the tooth and flexibility give the best results.
