Des Robertshaw

Robertshaw was born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1955. At age ten his family moved to Napier were he attended Colenso High School. Des then moved on to study art at Victoria University in Wellington. Robertshaw draws his inspiration from the clear purity of light, the pristine shores and the landscape of New Zealand. He takes the human form and captures its unseen the language and elements. His bold shapes then function as abstract art. Robertshaw's work has made a significant impact on New Zealand art collectors and can also be found in Germany, USA, Holland and UK.
