Claire O'Hea

Claire O’Hea studied Textile Design at Chelsea College, London. Claire comes from a fine art background and her designs are influenced by natural and nomadic themes, focusing on primitive ancient cultures and haiku poetry - being at one with nature. She draws on nature and nomadic themes for inspiration, focusing on ancient and primitive cultures and Haiku poetry. Claire’s technique blends hand-drawn and painted marks, torn or cut out shapes with opaque and transparent areas. She works spontaneously, laying down one colour that then dictates the necessity of another, relying on the eye alone to accept or discard components that do not harmonise. It is an invigorating and exciting process that provides an unlimited number of combinations and possibilities within each idea.
